Is Grey Blending right for you?

This guide will help you understand what Grey Blending is, how it is different from traditional hair colouring and whether it’s the right choice for your hair.

I’m guessing that you’re here because your hair colour is off and doesn’t feel like you anymore. You’re constantly chasing the regrowth and covering the greys every 3-6 weeks, maybe booking in meetings and parties around when you get your roots done?

Through years of colouring your roots, the colour has gone way too dark or you’ve been having highlights to break it up and its gone way too blonde and brassy. You’re not alone.

This guide was produced to help you understand what Grey Blending is and how it could work for your hair.

What is Grey Blending?

Grey Blending a bespoke transformation that works with your natural hair, not against it. That doesn’t mean you have to go completely grey unless you want to. Instead of blanket coverage with one colour, a blend is created to remove the line of demarcation between your natural and the old colour and remove brassiness.

By carefully working with your natural and using strategic placement, each client’s hair is approached on an individual basis. As every head of hair is different, placement is tailored accordingly. This technique allows your greys to grow through in a way that is blended, seamless, intentional and stylish.

This means
• No more harsh root lines
• No more brassiness or yellowing
• Up to 5x longer between salon visits
• A natural finish that feels more like you
• A colour that suits your features
• The perfect middle ground

Grey Blending VS traditional colour

Choosing how to approach your greys is a personal decision. Traditional colour and Grey Blending can both create beautiful results, but they work in very different ways and are suited to different goals, lifestyles and maintenance preferences.

Traditional colour is designed to cover the greys completely. Although this provides full coverage, it can also create an obvious regrowth line as your natural hair grows through, often resulting in salon appointments every 3-6 weeks.

Grey Blending takes a softer, more personalised approach. Instead of hiding every grey, it works with your natural colour to create a dimensional and seamless result that grows out gradually. The comparison below will help you understand the key differences and decide which approach may be better suited to you.

How often will I need to visit?

Full Transformation

A Grey Blending Transformation is very specialist. Initially I work with most clients every 4 weeks and each session can last up to 6 hours. At each visit I will assess regrowth and blend and see how things are feeling for you. We work together, as a team, until your goal is reached. Once we agree your goal is reached, your transformation is complete and you can move in to optional Maintenance Days every 3-6 months. Thanks to longer gaps between Maintenance Days many of my clients travel from far and wide.

High Impact Day

Optional Maintenance Days dependant on how your blend is going. Sometimes a High Impact Day is all that is needed and in others colour will need further tonal refinement.
